This innovative web application replaces the time-consuming, manual processes with an efficient, digital solution for managing K9 operations and team roles, supporting the reserve’s managers, trainers, and handlers.

The Problem

In the current manual setup, the manager at Melorane Game Reserve faces significant challenges. Manually recorded information on K9 training, task assignments, and activities can be inaccurate, slow to update, and at risk of being lost or damaged. Handlers and trainers lack direct access to the information and updates they need, often waiting for the manager to distribute printed instructions. This bottleneck slows down patrol assignments, task planning, and incident response, impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of the reserve’s security efforts.

Key Solution Benefits

The system supports multiple user roles, each with specific access levels to streamline K9 management. Trainers have access to all training-related features, allowing them to manage training programs, track each K9's training history and certifications, log incidents related to training sessions, and update the Dog Profile Database with relevant training progress.

Handlers have access to incident reporting and inventory management, enabling them to log field incidents with details like location pins on Google Maps and attached images for documentation. Handlers can also monitor and manage equipment and supplies essential for their tasks through the Inventory Management module, ensuring they have the necessary resources for effective K9 handling.

Managers maintain full access across all modules, including the Dog Profile Database, Training Program management, Activity Stream, Inventory Management, and the Comprehensive Calendar. This allows them to assign roles, schedule tasks, monitor training progress, track inventory levels, and oversee all K9 operations efficiently.

The Mobile App further supports field reporting by allowing users to log incidents and capture live images on the go. This multi-user structure with differentiated access ensures that trainers, handlers, and managers each have the tools they need to fulfill their roles, creating a cohesive, secure, and effective K9 management system.
